BIOTIC CONDITIONS

Rodents abundance evaluation:

low

Breeding conditions:

Single Arctic Foxes were recorded rather frequently, but no inhabited dens were found. Rodent-feeding birds did not breed. Among waders, single nests were found only in Golden Plover Pluvialis apricaria and Common Snipe Gallinago gallinago. Bar-tailed Godwits were almost absent, while in 1989 their number in the same area was very large. For all birds, breeding conditions were extremely unfavourable.

Rodent dynamics:

Only one lemming was observed during the whole season.
